Your journey to becoming a police officer can start sooner than you think! The Woodstock Police Service is seeking Special Constables and Cadets to gain experience in the policing field.
Special Constable - Court Security
Special Constables hired by the Woodstock Police Service provide security services to the Courthouses in Woodstock. Special Constable duties include:
- Search and screen individuals in custody;
- Screen and scan entry into the Courthouse;
- Prisoner transportation to and from court, correctional facilities and other police agencies;
- Serve court documents;
- Complete fingerprinting and process other judicial orders.
Special Constable - Cadet
Cadets have similar duties and responsibilities as Court Security Special Constables, with the exception of working at the Woodstock Police Service headquarters and following the shift schedule of their assigned platoon. Cadets may also handle minor police reports, among other duties to support the platoon.
Applicants must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's licence with a good driving record. An OACP Certificate is an asset.
