MEDIA RELEASE - Crime Stoppers Month

WOODSTOCK, ON (January 9, 2023) – The Woodstock Police Service would like to acknowledge and express appreciation for Crime Stoppers of Oxford in recognition of January as National Crime Stoppers Month. This year’s Crime Stoppers Month theme is Stand Up, Stand Together.

Crime Stoppers of Oxford has been a vital resource for the Woodstock Police Service over the years and has had a hand in doing just that – helping our community stand up to crime, together. The information provided by Crime Stoppers Tipsters has assisted in many investigations that have led to arrests, charges, and millions of dollars worth of drugs seized and stolen property recovered since the program began over 30 years ago.

The Woodstock Police Service would like to thank all of the Crime Stoppers of Oxford board members and volunteers for the countless hours dedicated to maintaining operations and fundraising for the charitable program.

“Woodstock Police remain committed in supporting our partnership with Crime Stoppers Oxford.  Crime Stoppers remains an invaluable tool in safeguarding the safety of the citizens of Woodstock by assisting police in solving crime and by providing a venue for people to report crimes and threats anonymously.  We are a City with diverse ethnic origins, cultures and beliefs. This year’s theme of “Stand Up, Stand Together” promotes all of us to work with one another.” – Deputy Chief Nick Novacich, Woodstock Police Service

"Crime Stoppers of Oxford appreciates the ongoing support we receive from both our local police agencies, the Woodstock Police Service and Oxford OPP in helping make our community a safe place to work and live. These partnerships are important for keeping the Crime Stoppers program successful." – Glen Blair, Crime Stoppers Oxford President.

Anyone wishing to report information about a crime in Oxford County anonymously is encouraged to submit a tip online at www.oxfordcrimestoppers.com or call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tipsters could earn a cash reward of up to $2000 for their information while remaining anonymous.
