Woodstock, ON (January 4, 2023) – As a result of a search warrant executed in October 2022, police lay child pornography charges against a 17-year-old Woodstock male.
On January 4, 2023, the Woodstock Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit and the Criminal Investigations Bureau arrested and charged a 17-year-old Woodstock male young offender with the following offences:
- Distribute Child Pornography
- Possession of Child Pornography
- Access any Child Pornography
The youth was held in custody for a bail hearing. The Woodstock Police Service will not be releasing the identity of the accused as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The Woodstock Police Service is a member of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet and conducts investigations into Internet Child Exploitation Offences in partnership with numerous Ontario Police Services. This investigation has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
