Vulnerable Person Registry

cup

The Vulnerable Person Registry is a voluntary service offered by Woodstock Police Service.

The new registry allows family members and/or caregivers of vulnerable persons to submit critical information to Woodstock Police Service that will assist them during an emergency situation.

The voluntary Vulnerable Person Registry will provide the Woodstock Police Service with emergency contact information, detailed physical descriptions, known routines and the special needs of the individual.  The information will assist officers in communicating with, attending a residence of, or dealing with an emergency involving the individual.  The registry is intended to keep vulnerable members of our community safe.

Separately, if your loved one is living with dementia, community partners recognize that families and caregivers need support.  If your loved one goes missing then the “Finding Your Way” registry can help people with dementia-related memory problems live safely in our community.  For more information on how to register for the “Finding your Way” registry contact the Alzheimer Society of Southwest Partners.

Definition of a Vulnerable Person

Examples of Vulnerable Persons may include persons with; Autism Spectrum Disorder, Acquired Brain Injury or a mental condition that causes a person to exhibit the above behaviours.
