WOODSTOCK, ON (November 21, 2022) – Police charge impaired driver after fleeing from collision with parked vehicle.


On Saturday, November 19, 2022 at approximately 7:40 p.m. the Woodstock Police Service responded to reports of a suspected impaired driver attempting to drive away after colliding with a parked vehicle on Upper Thames Drive near Woodsworth Terrace. When damages to the vehicle did not allow for the vehicle to drive away, the driver left the scene on foot, walking to a residence. Police located the suspected driver at a nearby home.


Further investigation revealed the driver to be more than double the legal limit of 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood. As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 58-year-old Woodstock resident, was arrested and charged with:


  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Failure to stop after accident
