LARGE DRUG SEIZURE
WOODSTOCK, ON (April 10, 2024) – Woodstock Police seize nearly $99,500 worth of drugs and cash in traffic stop.
On Tuesday April 9, 2024 at approximately 11:55 p.m., a Woodstock Police Service officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop in the area Dundas Street and Beards Lane. Police determined the passenger in the vehicle was wanted.
The Uniform Patrol officers, with the assistance of the Woodstock Police Service Drug Enforcement and Criminal Intelligence Unit, found the suspect to be in possession of a street value of approximately $96,080 of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and crack cocaine, $3390 in Canadian currency and two folding knives.
As a result of the investigation, Brittany Claire ACKWORTH (33) of Woodstock, ON, was arrested and charged with:
- One count of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine;
- One count of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid other than heroin;
- One count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000;
- One count of possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine;
- One count of possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine;
- One count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
- One count of failure to comply with a probation order; and
- One count of failure to comply with undertaking.
The accused was held in custody to attend a bail hearing.
